What we know so far about the new Axiom TV show from “The Simpsons” episode, “The Family Reunion”
Axiom Television is putting a new spin on the hit TV show The Simpsons, the first episode of which airs today on ABC.
The series, which has been airing on the network since the 1980s, is an all-new animated television series that stars Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Marge Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Maggie Simpson, and Maggie and Homer Simpson’s kids.
The show was created by Seth MacFarlane, who is also executive producer.
The series was created for MacFarlanes family-friendly network.
MacFarlane also directed the first season of “The Hangover Part III” for Fox, and will be returning to direct “The Springfield Files” for Netflix in 2018.
The first episode airs tonight on ABC at 8:30pm ET.
“The Simpsons is one of the most iconic and beloved animated series of all time, and we are thrilled to bring this amazing brand of animation to our fans around the world,” said Lisa Kudrow, President of Original Programming, ABC.
“We look forward to introducing our fans to the fun, smart, funny world of the show, which we hope will be a fun and rewarding new chapter for our fans.”
“The Family” has been a popular family-oriented animated series on the channel for years.
“The family” is a play on the phrase “the family” from the show’s opening credits.
The family reunions are a recurring plot point throughout the series.
The family meets up to celebrate Christmas and then has a meal together.
Then, at the end of the episode, Homer has to help his dad fix the family’s Christmas tree.
The Simpsons’ writers also referenced a Christmas card Homer received at his dad’s house.
The animated series will be available for streaming in the U.S. and Canada beginning this Thursday.
The Simpsons will also be returning for the third season of its “Treehouse of Horror: The Series,” which will premiere in 2018 on Fox.
